Our scouting program is entirely funded by APA. All adult volunteers have had a background check, first aid training, and additional training prior to working with the scouts.
Scouts do hands-on projects, volunteering taking care of animals, learning survival skills, hiking, gardening, recycling, and more. Overnight camping, fundraising, and movie nights are always a hit. As they complete projects and levels, they earn badges and pins displaying their accomplishment. All badges and pins, except the first uniform badge, are earned by our scouts, not given to them. Badges and pins are earned by completing specific tasks and challenges such as hiking 25 miles total, participating or leading an esbat or ritual, and completing service projects.
Age groups are based on the four elements: Earth, Air, Fire, Water - 3-5 years: Ground Guardians 6-9 years: Sky Seekers 10-13 years: Flame Forgers 14-17 years: Flow Finders
